'Arizona Sunshine Remake' Teases Visual Refresh on Quest 3 and PSVR 2 Ahead of October Launch

Vertigo Games is preparing to release a remake of the game Arizona Sun (2016)It also shows new gameplay footage for Quest 3 and PSVR 2, the zombie-slaying adventure that started it all.

It was announced in mid-August, Arizona Sunshine Remake Coming to all major headsets on October 17th, including Quest 2/3/Pro, PSVR 2, and SteamVR headsets (including cross-platform co-op).

Among a number of graphical updates and a new mutilation and bloodletting systemArizona Sun 2 (2023)The remake includes all of the original DLC and updates, including the Dead Man DLC, The Damned DLC, Old Mine update, Trailer Park Update, and Undead Valley Update.

Vertigo Games has released gameplay videos for the Quest and PSVR 2, giving us a firsthand look at how the graphics of the two compare.

Mission Gameplay

The new gameplay footage, seemingly shot on the Quest 3, shows a huge leap in graphical fidelity compared to the original Quest-powered version that released in 2019. For comparison, take a look at John McChaos' uncommented gameplay on the Quest 3 and see what Vertigo Games is promising with the newly remastered version.

You can pre-order the game on Quest for a 10% discount off the regular suggested retail price of $30.

Notes: players who already own the original Arizona Sun You will be able to upgrade to Arizona Sunshine Remake at a discounted price, but you will need to purchase and install the original game on your platform. Keep this in mind before pre-ordering!

PSVR 2 Gameplay

The PSVR 2 version, in particular, looks predictably a bit more polished, featuring the same introductory section. Hands-on previews of the PSVR 2 version at Gamescom 2024 in August were quite positive. Check out our preview of Beardo Banjo to see it in action.

PS Plus members can take advantage of a 10% discount on pre-orders, which normally cost $30 more on the PlayStation Store.

PC VR players can also get a 10% discount on pre-orders on Steam. While we haven't seen any specific gameplay footage for PC VR, we're still keeping an eye out for what promises to be a definitive way to play a true VR classic in the coming weeks.
