ASICS to end sales of baseball gloves and bats in shift to running shoes

KOBE, Japan — Japanese sporting goods brand ASICS will stop selling baseball gloves and bats in September 2025 as part of a shift to high-end running shoes and other products with strong international demand.

The Kobe-based company, which supplies equipment to Major League Baseball greats like Ichiro Suzuki and Shohei Ohtani, began selling baseball cleats in 1973.
