TOKYO — Consumers often gravitate toward cheaper products, especially everyday items like towels. However, Japanese convenience chain FamilyMart has shown that this doesn't have to be the case with new products and efficient pricing.
FamilyMart launched its Casual Wear clothing line in March 2021, backed by parent company and major merchandising house Itochu. Despite Itochu's experience in the textile business, some experts are skeptical about selling underwear, socks, towels and towels in convenience stores.
