Smartmelon Games and Fast Travel Games announced the multiplayer VR rhythm game. Band AreaIt will be released on Quest and PC VR this month and will bring a lot of innovations. Rock BandVR inspired gaming experience.
Smartmelon starts on October 24th Band Area It supports both single and multiplayer for up to four players, allowing you to have fun with motion controllers on guitar, drums, bass and keyboard.
When released, the full version will come with a 30-song tracklist, featuring songs by Bullet For My Valentine's Jason Bowld, Tribes' Johnny Lloyd, and Thorr, the composer of the final installment of John Romero's Sigil series.
Unlike some popular beat-based games we know, modders are getting Mod.io integration in the single-player mode, so you can edit and share levels that are said to be currently being worked on. It even comes with a beat map editor that lets you do things like create lighting levels to match the tone of your music.
Additionally, the studios say more songs could arrive via DLC in the “near future,” though they haven't released any official plans yet.
It was previously an impressively full-featured early access demo. Band Area It's coming to the Horizon Store on October 24 for $20 for Quest 2/3/Pro and SteamVR headsets. We've reached out to studios to see if this includes cross-play and will update when it becomes clear.
In the meantime, you can also check out the free demo on Quest, which offers a handful of songs and multiplayer support, so you can get your hands on some tasty licks and let go.
