Bangladesh tribunal issues arrest warrant for Sheikh Hasina

DHAKA — The International Criminal Court (ICC) in Bangladesh on Thursday issued arrest warrants for exiled former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 45 others for alleged crimes against humanity and mass killings during student uprisings in July and August.

More than 60 complaints of crimes against humanity, murders and enforced disappearances have been filed against Hasina and others, including her close aides. The ICT company, which was established in 2010 when Hasina was prime minister of Bangladesh, has officially started legal proceedings and has ordered Hasina and others to appear in court by November 18.
