TOKYO — With the 2009 film “3 Idiots” and others, Bollywood star Aamir Khan is famous in his native India. The 59-year-old actor hides social themes in entertainers with lots of song-and-dance routines because he “believes I can change people's hearts for good,” he said.
Khan spoke to Nikkei online ahead of Laapataa Ladies' October 4 release in Japan. His co-production is India's entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 97th Academy Awards in March 2025.
