HAMBURG, Germany — BYD sold just 218 vehicles in Germany last month, the transport authority said Thursday, days after the Chinese electric carmaker announced a renewed distribution strategy in the country.
The August figure is down from July's 240 and equals a 0.1% share of Europe's largest car market. BYD announced last week that it had acquired its distributor in Germany, Hedin Electric Mobility, hoping to expand its sales network there.
