Campaigning starts in Indonesia’s regional elections: 5 things to know

JAKARTA — Indonesia kicks off two months of campaigning Wednesday for the country's biggest regional election on Nov. 27 to fill the increasingly powerful positions of provincial governor, provincial and municipal leaders. The outcome of these votes will give clues as to how successful President Prabowo Subianto's programs will be and who may emerge as politicians of national prominence.
