TAIPEI — China has accused Taiwan's president of persecuting pro-Beijing rivals, days after the leader of the second-largest opposition party was jailed amid corruption charges.
“Since coming to power, the Lai Ching-te administration has repeatedly manipulated judicial and administrative means, used public weapons for personal purposes, attacked party members and opponents, and created 'green terror' on the island,” Chen Binhua said. China's Taiwan Affairs Office informed journalists about this on Wednesday.
