China foreign minister calls for immediate cease-fire in Middle East

NEW YORK — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday there should be no delay in a comprehensive ceasefire in the Middle East, where Israel's killing of a Hezbollah leader has fueled fears of full-scale war. The Gaza war is approaching its one-year mark.

According to him, the two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians remains the “main way out” of the war.
