HONG KONG — The killing of a top financial official in China's central Hunan province has sparked widespread speculation in the country's media and online platforms.
Liu Wenjie, head of Hunan's budget department and financial supervision bureau, was killed Thursday morning at the official residence of the local finance bureau. Two male suspects, aged 35 and 31, both surnamed Jiang, also died after falling from the top floor of the building, local police said.
