China real estate crisis batters state developers seen as better off

HONG KONG — China's state-owned developers are showing signs of stress as the country's property crisis shows no signs of abating.

While the scale of their problems is not on the scale of distressed private peers such as China's Evergrande Group and Country Garden Holdings – which delayed reporting 2023 results on Friday – the latest gains highlight that even the big state players are not immune.
