China’s BYD touts luxury EVs in ASEAN as rivals crowd in

SINGAPORE — Chinese electric car giant BYD has launched an offensive to capture market share in Southeast Asia's luxury car space, as other Chinese rivals start to cause problems in the region.

The Shenzhen-based EV company launched the Denza brand in Singapore on Thursday, following a Cambodian launch a few months ago, and is eyeing other markets in the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations to export its vehicles.
