PARIS/HAMBURG, Germany — The European Union is expected to vote next week on import tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles, sources told Nikkei Asia, after the move was postponed from Wednesday.
The EU's 27 countries are expected to vote on a range of tariffs on Chinese electric cars announced by the European Commission in June to level the playing field for European carmakers. Chinese EV manufacturers benefit from government subsidies that allow them to cheapen their exports in their bid to expand global market share.
