HONG KONG — The Epoch Times, a media outlet backed by Falun Gong, a Chinese-origin religious sect strongly critical of the Communist Party, is set to suspend publication of its print edition in Hong Kong next week.

But its publisher described the difficulties it faces in Hong Kong, where press freedom has come under heavy pressure from the authorities in recent years. The US just warned businesses again about strengthening the national security environment.
