Flat2VR Studios Announces Four Flatscreen Games Getting VR Ports for Major Titles

Hot on the heels of announcing it would be joining the A16Z SPEEDRUN accelerator program, Flat2VR Studios has announced four existing flatscreen games that are getting official releases for all of its major VR titles.

Flat2VR Studios exists to adapt existing flatscreen games for VR. The studio today announced the first four games in development, all scheduled for release on Quest, PSVR 2, and PC VR. Check out all the trailers below.

WRATH: The End of Ruin VR

Original ANGER: Age of Destruction (2024) “A hardcore FPS inspired by 90s icons and backed by a legendary game developer. Earthquake 1 Technology. Set in a decaying land, take up arms, uncover long-forgotten secrets, and hunt down the Guardians of the Ancient World.” The game has a “Mostly Positive” (77% positive reviews) rating from Steam users.

The VR port will put players in direct control of their weapons. It will be interesting to see if the studio implements a manual reload system or sticks to simple button-based reload animations. No release date has been announced yet.

Roboquest VR

Original Robotic Mission (2023) “A fast-paced FPS Roguelite set in a scorched future world. You're a rebooted Guardian, ready to kick some metal ass! Fight with a friend or solo and destroy hordes of deadly bots in ever-changing environments.” The game has been rated “Very Positive” (95% positive reviews) by Steam users.

The original game includes full-featured co-op support for up to two players, and we hope that carries over to the game. Roboquest VR Port from Flat2VR Studios. Maybe even with cross-play? Fingers crossed. Roboquest VR There is no release date yet.

Plain VR

Original Straight Out (2004) It's said to “offer an exhilarating combination of high-octane racing, smash-and-grab racing action, and deadly windshield-hurling stunts!” The game has been rated “Very Positive” (92 percent positive reviews) by Steam users.

The Plain VR The port will put players directly in the driver's seat as they crash and crash around racetracks. With crashes that can come to a sudden stop and potentially “throw the driver through the windshield,” comfort design will definitely be a high priority for the VR port. Trombone Champion: Unflattened

And last but not least, Trombone ChampionThe meme game of 2022 where even the best players look like amateurs. It's a rhythm game where making mistakes can be as fun as hitting perfect notes. The original game has a “Very Positive” rating (98% positive reviews) from Steam users.

The port is titled Trombone Champion: Unflattenedputs the trombone directly into the hands of players. With motion controls, VR offers a more authentic way to play the instrument by moving your hand the same way you would move the slide on a real trombone. There is no release date for Trombone Champion: Unflattened yet.
