FUKUSHIMA, Japan — A series of data centers opening in Fukushima Prefecture offers a chance to revive a disaster-stricken region in northeastern Japan by attracting startups involved in artificial intelligence and other digital technologies.
Rutilea, a Kyoto-based AI startup, held a ceremony Wednesday to mark the completion of the first of two planned data centers in the Pacific coast city of Okuma, which was hit hard by the 2011 tsunami.
