Hezbollah device attacks show loss of control after export

TOKYO — A reported link between a Japanese manufacturer and walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah fighters that exploded in Lebanon this week underscores the challenges companies face in preventing their products from being used for military or terrorist activities.

The devices were labeled with Icom's logo, and it said Thursday that “it is not possible to confirm whether the product has been shipped from our company.”
