HTC's Vive Ultimate Trackers Are Now Compatible with All SteamVR Headsets

HTC announced that the Vive Ultimate Tracker is now compatible with third-party PC VR headsets that support SteamVR.

Originally developed for the Vive Focus 3 and Vive

Released last November for $200, the Vive Ultimate Tracker is now compatible with SteamVR headsets, including tethered PC VR headsets like the Valve Index, as well as standalone devices that can connect to PCs, like the Quest 3 or Pico Pico 4 Ultra.

This follows a beta program launched earlier this year to test compatibility with other SteamVR-supported headsets, including Quest. The company says feedback from the program helps improve viewer responsiveness, connectivity, and overall user experience.

This also means that the Vive Ultimate Tracker can also work independently of the headset, so it can be used to track the movements of people or objects, making it useful in many areas.

Priced at $200 per device, users looking for basic full-body tracking only need at least three trackers; these are available in a $600 bundle that includes the requisite Vive Wireless Dongle ($39 MSRP). This allows you to track each foot (with the included straps) and one foot placed on your hips.
