JAKARTA — Indonesia's business community is worried about a sudden change in the leadership of the national chamber of commerce just a month before Prabowo Subianto replaces Joko “Jokowi” Widodo as president of Southeast Asia's largest economy.
Businessmen and analysts believe the reshuffle at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN), which saw Anindya Bakrie replace Arsjad Rasjid as chairman on Saturday, is linked to Jokowi's political maneuvering to consolidate his power base after he resigned on October 20.
