Japan to subsidize bus security for Japanese schools in China

TOKYO — Japan will help pay security guards to protect school buses serving Japanese schools in China for the first time since a knife attack on a Japanese family at a bus stop in the country earlier this year.

Japan's foreign ministry has asked for 350 million yen ($2.5 million) to pay for security measures for the next fiscal year.
