Japanese bento chain to start selling frozen meals for under $2

OSAKA — Japanese bento chain operator Hokka-Hokka Tei plans to start selling frozen boxed meals through retailers in 2025 for about 250 yen ($1.75) to meet growing demand among busy working families.

Tatsuya Aoki, chairman and CEO of Hurxley, the chain's operating company, revealed the plan in an interview with Nikkei.
