TOKYO — Hospitality group Hoshino Resorts will open a Japanese-style hotel with hot springs in the United States in 2028, the company said Thursday, looking abroad for opportunities as competition heats up in the country.
“When you look at the future of the company in 20 to 30 years, we need to establish facilities and a strong foothold in North America, the heart of the hotel industry,” CEO Yoshiharu Hoshino said in an online press conference announcing the plan.
