Japan’s ispace prepares for second private moon landing attempt

TSUKUBA, Japan — A Japanese lunar transportation startup will try again to land a space probe on the moon and, if successful, will become the first private company in Asia to do so.

“We worked hard to improve the problems we identified and never stopped moving forward,” ispace CEO Takeshi Hakamada said Thursday during a news conference in Tsukuba, northeast of Tokyo and home to its scientific research centers.
