Japan’s MinebeaMitsumi joins Lego in Southeast Asia clean energy push

HANOI — Japanese bearing maker MinebeaMitsumi is building a factory in Cambodia that will run on 100% renewable energy, joining the likes of Lego Group and other international businesses in establishing more sustainable manufacturing hubs in Southeast Asia.

The plant under construction in Pursat province will produce precision components for cars and home appliances from day one using only renewable energy. The company has secured about 500,000 square meters of land a few kilometers away for a solar farm to power the station.
