Mitsui’s protein push embraces shrimp and poultry

TOKYO — Japanese trading house Mitsui & Co. is rushing to acquire assets in the poultry and shrimp businesses and build a global supply chain for sustainable proteins.

The president of Mitsui, Kenichi Hori, said that the food is not only economical, but also environmentally friendly. “We will expand food choices that are compatible with natural capital and contribute to health,” he said in an interview with Nikkei.
