There's no shortage of speculation when it comes to all things Valve. But now Tyler McVicker, a YouTuber and one of the leading voices dedicated to deciphering Valve's various internal developments, is reporting that not only is the company's long-awaited standalone VR headset still coming, but it could also come with its own headset Half life game.
McVicker says that Valve's much-talked-about indie game, known simply as 'Deckard', is “still in production” and that Valve “still plans to release that hardware” according to his sources.

While the next rumors are floating around Half life McVicker predicts there could be a game (aka 'HLX') that might not be a VR-supported game Half life A game specifically created to showcase Deckard has the potential to be a base game for Deckard, just like Half Life: Alyx (2020) Valve showcased the capabilities of Index.
Echoing a previous rumor first reported in 2020, McVicker renewed speculation that both rumors were true. Half life games may be in development, which could turn into an asymmetrical co-op game between PC and Deckard.
The result will be “multiplayer asymmetric gaming.” Half life McVicker describes it as “a universe where one player is in VR and the other is on the computer. The computer player would always be Gordon Freeman, while the VR player would be Alyx Vance. The idea was for these two characters to interact, with the VR player experiencing Alyx's story and the PC player experiencing Gordon's story, and both having elements of cooperation between them.”
While this particular claim is still largely a rumor, McVicker has been doing a lot of detective work when it comes to the code that Valve has released across its various first-party titles and services, which could hold some clues as to what's coming in the pipeline. However, he does admit that he's “not done” with all the code that Valve has released in 2024, so we could learn more later this year.
