TOKYO — Chipmaker Rapidus and auto supplier Denso plan to share methods for designing advanced chips for use in areas such as artificial intelligence and self-driving cars, hoping to boost the competitiveness of Japan's chip industry as a whole.
The two Japanese companies are part of an eight-member group formed by SEMI, an international industry group working to develop a global semiconductor supply chain. Other members include Japanese design software maker Zuken and German technology group Siemens.
