Nerd Ninjas, the independent studio that helped develop Niantic Pokémon GO and Scary Posture Games' Battle Trainhas announced a co-op roguelite for Quest and PC VR headsets that promises a serious dose of piñata-smashing mayhem: Rogue Piñatas: VRmageddon.
As the studio's first original IP, Bandit Piñatas It features both solo and co-op matches for up to four players, set in a “party apocalypse world” where players try to survive by hitting piñatas that come to life.
With more than six characters to choose from, each character gets their own unique perks and starting weapons; this allows you to swing into the stands against over 18 different piñata enemies before facing six piñata level bosses. Smash a piñata to earn candies that you can spend to upgrade powers and over 12 weapons.
If you want to crush a few for yourself, the studio has released a free demo. Rogue Piñatas: VRmageddon, is now live on Quest 2/3/Pro SteamVR headsets.
Nerd Ninjas is also scheduled to launch a launch. Bandit Piñatas On October 22, Kickstarter will support the game as well as give backers the chance to become beta testers and participate in design sessions.
