'Skydance's Behemoth' Delayed to December to Add More Polish to “AAA” VR Adventure

Skydance Games is the developer of the long-awaited VR adventure Skydance's BEHEMOTHannounced that the game will be coming out slightly later than its original November 14 release date, which will cause the launch to be delayed by a few weeks.

Skydance announced the news with an X post, noting that the new release date for all supported titles (including Quest 2/3/Pro, PSVR 2, and SteamVR titles) is set for December 5, 2024.

“The positive response to the game up until this point has been incredible, and the overwhelming support from our community has us all very excited to share what we’ve been working so hard on,” the studio says in the post. “We felt giving our team the extra time needed to polish and deliver the highest quality game at launch was the most important thing for our players.”

Back in June, we got our first look at an extended gameplay session where the studio introduced exploration, combat, environmental puzzles, and a bunch of other tasty game modes. diegetic interfaces—In-world interactions that transform menus and screens into more immersive, VR-specific interactions.

All of this is being packaged into a single-player campaign that's expected to last around 12 hours, which is the extent of what we've come to expect from the studio that brought us the very well-received game. The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners franchise.
