South Korea crafts legislation to support unorganized workers

SEOUL — South Korea's conservative government is working on legislation that would provide targeted support to non-unionized workers, according to a presidential adviser.

The country's labor ministry is drafting legislation to provide protections for “vulnerable” members of the administration's workforce, according to national policy director Sung Tae-yoon, who tend to earn low wages, according to gig workers and small and medium-sized enterprise workers.
