Update (September 16, 2024): Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine VR – Avarax Warriors is officially coming to Zero Latency on September 25th, and pre-bookings are available now.

Inspired by Space Marines 2, this 30-minute Warhammer VR experience pits you and seven others against Tyranid forces, providing plenty of opportunities for cooperative exploration and combat.

Original Article (May 23, 2024): We knew a Warhammer 40K experience was in development for VR attraction Zero Latency as of 2022. It was originally expected in 2023, but it looks like we'll have to wait until October of this year to jump into our own Power Armour.

For the trailer Warhammer 40K: Space Marine VR Not much else is being revealed apart from Space Marines, Tyranids and an October release date (see update).

But we do know that Zero Latency is a VR attraction, with experiences typically designed to last around 30 minutes, so while this isn't a full-fledged Warhammer 40K VR game in the traditional sense, it's likely to be a fun time (with you and up to 7 friends!). Here's the text trailer for now:

In Space Marine VR: Defenders of Avarax, you will play as a Space Marine, a genetically enhanced super soldier. Exploring the Hive City of Fervastium, players will delve deep into a vault on a crucial mission that could turn the tide and help drive back the Tyranids, an all-consuming alien horde from beyond the known galaxy. Using a wide range of weapons from the Space Marine arsenal, players will take on the shoes of these highly disciplined and relentless warriors as they battle hordes of voracious Tyranids.

Zero Latency is one of the leading VR attractions with 93 locations across 26 countries. We’ve previously been impressed by the company’s in-house development talent, and we hope to see their work taken to the next level. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine VRDesigning experiences for VR attractions presents a surprisingly unique challenge compared to building VR apps at home, especially if there are multiple players in the same physical play space.
