Sumitomo, JAL clothing rentals for Japan travelers get upgraded

TOKYO — An experimental clothing rental service in Japan is allowing visitors to ditch one of the biggest burdens of air travel: luggage.

The trial service proved so popular that Japan Airlines and Japanese trading house Sumitomo Corp., which jointly launched the “Any Clothes, Anywhere” initiative in July last year, extended the service until March this year, which was scheduled to end in August. .
