Thai PM Paetongtarn sees polling boost, raising concern in military

BANGKOK — Support for Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has surged nearly a month after he took office, buoyed by his handling of political initiatives and prompt response to natural disasters.

Paetongtarn's popularity rating rose to 31% from 5% in mid-June in an opinion poll published this week by Thailand's National Development Administration Institute.
