KUALA LUMPUR — The arrival of Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons in Malaysia with the opening of its first two outlets this month has reinforced how a tea-drinking nation is changing its tastes and social habits.
Foreign chains entered Malaysia more than 25 years ago, with Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts leading the way. But it is only in the last few years that the tea-drinking population under the erstwhile British rulers has changed from leaf to bean.
