U.S.-China climate ‘differences’ linger as envoys wrap up talks

SHENZHEN — US climate envoy John Podesta wrapped up a three-day visit to China on Friday as the superpower rivals seek common ground on global warming.

Podesta met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his climate counterpart Liu Zhenmin for a second round of talks since being named the top US climate adviser earlier this year. In November, the two countries agreed to “accelerate the deployment of renewable energy” to replace coal, oil and gas production.
