Yen falls to 1-month low on PM Ishiba’s dovish remarks; stocks jump

TOKYO — The Japanese yen fell to 147 against the dollar on Thursday, a one-month low, after Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba commented that the country was not ready for more rate hikes.

Still, September was weighed down by stronger-than-expected U.S. private sector employment data.
