Yen slightly gains as BOJ leaves rates unchanged as expected

TOKYO — The yen strengthened slightly as the Bank of Japan held interest rates steady at about 25 basis points at its monetary policy meeting on Friday, in line with market expectations.

The yen's overall movement was limited as investors will look to Governor Kazuo Ueda's presser scheduled for 3:30pm Japan time to look for any guidance on the next rate hike.
