TOKYO — The yen weakened to as low as 149 against the dollar for the first time since mid-August on Monday, falling further from last week's loss after a strong U.S. jobs report.
The yen traded at 149.09 in the morning, its lowest since mid-August and down 1.9% from Friday. The Japanese currency has since pared some losses to reach 148, but is still weak compared to Friday.
